ABOUT Saltaire art

As a nurturing artistic destination, Saltaire Art School offers high-quality tuition to the close-knit community of Saltaire and beyond. The curriculum encompasses learning basic geometrical shapes and principles of proportions, light, and shadow, progressing to human anatomy and life drawing classes. It not only provides an opportunity to learn the traditional approach to drawing and painting but also serves as a space to disconnect from the worries of daily life and immerse oneself in another creative world.

The popularity of the Art School inspired the opening of Saltaire Art Gallery in 2023. The Saltaire Art organization aspires to establish Saltaire as a premier destination for high-quality art in the north of England.

NINA HUNTER

(Artistic Director + Founder)

Nina Hunter originates from Sopot, a culturally rich and artistic bohemian seaside town on the coast of Poland. Upon relocating to Saltaire in 2019, Nina immediately observed similarities between Saltaire and Sopot. Despite having lived in England for an extended period, it was only then that Nina began to feel at home. With institutions such as Salts Mill and David Hockney’s Gallery, there was a discernible vibe in the local scene that inspired Nina to open the Art School in 2020.
Nina received an MA in Graphic Design and Fine Arts from The Academy of Fine Arts in Poland. Nina’s career took her on a journey through Graphic Design and illustration where she gained a reputation as a sought-after professional.
In 2022 Nina was appointed as a Visiting Lecturer for Illustration (BA Hons) Illustration at Leeds Art University.
